Admissions Requirements:
Houston Dog Ranch has a two-step admissions process:
- Completed application form and current vaccinations and fecal tests returned prior to temperament test.
- Schedule an appointment for the temperament test. The fee for the temperament test is $35.00.
Screening Process:
After meeting the basic requirements, all dogs must pass a temperament test to ensure that they are comfortable, friendly and accepting of humans and other dogs. After all, they’re here to play. Due to the type of environment, it is necessary that dogs are not aggressive, toy or food possessive, territorial, overly shy or timid.
During the temperament test, your dog will be evaluated on his or her general disposition, human handling and dog interaction.
First Day Policy:
Your dog must be dropped off no later than 9:00 in the morning. It is equally important that new dogs are the first ones to be picked up in the afternoon between 4:30-5:00. This helps reduce the anxiety your dog may feel by seeing other dogs leaving first.
Drop-off and Pick-up Times:
Morning drop-off is from 7:30 AM to 9:30 AM
Afternoon pick-up is from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM
Special arrangements may be made for extenuating circumstances at the discretion of HDR management.
Reservation Policy:
A reservation is required for all dogs to attend dog daycare. We do not offer drop-in services.
Minimum Commitment:
All approved dogs are required to participate in Dog Daycare a minimum of once per week for the length of their enrollment. Dogs must come on the same day each week so that they can get to know their doggie friends and the pack can achieve a good comfort level. We have a 24-hour cancellation policy or daycare fees will be incurred. If you know you are going to miss more than one week you may continue to pay for your spot or you may discontinue enrollment and re-enroll at a later date. We allow one cancellation per month without charge.
