Basic Skills: Control Yourself!:
Without skills in place, dogs learn to act on their own impulses – go over there, sniff that, jump up, grab the treat out of your hand, etc.  In other words, they lack the foundation skills necessary to show good manners and exercise restraint.  This class is intended to teach you how to communicate with your dog and to teach your dog self-control, which is the foundation for good manners.
This course focuses on the following skills:

  • Name Response
  • Sit
  • Down
  • Leave It
  • Wait at doorways/curb/car
  • Polite greetings (instead of jumping up)

Requirements: Vaccinations must be administered by a licensed veterinarian. Dogs must be current on Rabies, Bordetella, Parvovirus/Distemper/Parainfluenza combination (i.e. DHLPP or DA2PP), and Canine Influenza.
